what I ate: Nov. 29, 2011

7:30am
- 1/2 cup egg whites with 2 tbsp. salsa & light feta cheese

10:30am
- tomato/onion tuna
- salad with 2 tbsp. light dressing & light feta cheese 

12:30pm
- 1 apple with almond butter
- 1 caramel rice cake with almond butter & honey 


4:00pm
- large handful of homemade corn nuts
- 1/2 pkg almonds (about 15)
- 6 cheesies (not shown)


6 - 8pm
- teach classes

9:00pm
- package of sesame snaps
- mint tea

So, I haven't posted for a few days because I was a little crazy with my big studio showcase this weekend!  I actually kept up the clean eating for the most part and even took the pics most of the weekend, but I just didn't get around to posting them all here.  Was gonna try to catch up, but then I just decided to start fresh today to save me some time!  Since I didn't get to have a real good cheat meal after the showcase on Sunday, I allowed myself anything I wanted yesterday... I ate a few bad things, but I found that I didn't even really want what I usually want (which was awesome and weird!)  As you'll see today was not unhealthy, but it was a little weird - lots of fat (nuts & cheese) and not many real meals - just grabbing stuff here and there - gotta do real groceries still (tomorrow!) Stay tuned!

what I ate: Nov.25, 2011

7:30am:
- small whole whaet tortilla
- 1 egg with 1/4 cup extra egg white
- salsa & grated cheddar
- green tea with mint

9:00am:
- mini yogurt (full fat) - didn't plan to eat this, but Zak was being all cute and prepared two as a surprise so I could share with him!

11:00am:
- Yop
- 2 gummy worms 

12:00 - 1:00pm:
- teach boot camp class

1:30pm
- 1 apple
- green tea

2:30pm
- 1/2 small bag of plain popcorn
(how can you turn down a really old popcorn machine in a bus station?) 

3:30pm:
- Starbucks turkey & cheddar sndwich on sunflower seed bread

It felt way too bready, so I didn't eat the crust and some of the bread - this is what was leftover:

7:30pm
- 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese
- Avocado, cucumber, tomato, feta salad with 1 tbsp. light dressing
- sleepytime tea


So, there were a few things that weren't perfect today, but I was having such a crazy-busy and frustrating day AND I was at a mall (where I always end up eating bad foods!) So I'm still pretty proud I didn't end up bingeing on everything in sight (which is often what happens to me in times of stress)!  YAY!  Today will be even better!

what I ate: Nov. 24, 2011

7:30am:
- 1 whole egg
- 1 slice of cheddar cheese
- 1 whole wheat english muffin
- green tea

10:30am - 1:00pm:
rehearse & teach boot camp

1:15pm:
- 1/2 pkg. Carl Buddig peppered beef (soooo good!)
- 1 white cheddar rice cake

3:00pm:
- Greek salad
- Grilled chicken breast with tzatziki 

4:30pm:
- 4 Rockets candy rolls

5 - 10pm:
- teach classes

10:20pm:
- salad with feta & light dressing
- 1 pkg. almonds

Today was a pretty stressful and crazy-busy day running around getting ready for my studio's showcase so I'm pretty proud that I did as good as I did.  I did eat those Rockets candies (just 100 calories total, but pure sugar!), but other than that I think it was pretty healthy!  I was eating as I ran around all day - I think the only meal I actually sat down for a second for was the Chicken Greek Salad! You CAN eat healthy on the run as long as you decide you're that there is no other option in your mind!!!

what I ate: Nov. 23, 2011

5:30am:
- wimpy 30 minute cardio workout

7:30am:
- 1 egg & 1/2 cup egg whites with cheese & salsa
- green tea with fresh mint

11:20 - 12:20:
- teach boot camp

12:30pm:
- 3/4 cup 2% cottage cheese with dill & garlic
- cauliflower & broccoli 

3:30pm:
- salad with 2 tbsp. light dressing
- 1 piece of fake crab (pollock) 

6pm:
- 4 extra lean ground beef meatballs dipped in yogurt/dill dip
- 1/2 avocado with tomato, cucumber, feta, and tiny bit of light dressing 

7pm:
- caramel rice cake with 1 tbsp. natural almond butter

9:30pm:
- 1 cup 0% Greek yogurt with honey, stawberries, and multigrain cheerios 

So, this day was fairly good in general, but I really would've rather spread my carbs out better instead of eating them all late at night (the worst time for them!)  I was trying to be all low carb because of my lazy day full of carbs yesterday, but I see that isn't going to be an option for an active girl like me!  I will still strive for not too crazy high carbs, but this only vegatables as carbs today made me really tired and only after eating the rice cake at 7pm, did I start perking up a bit!  I will go back to my carby carbs at every second meal today and definitely start the day with a carb like oatmeal or bread!  Today was pretty good for vegetables and I 'm gonna try to keep that happening and challenge myself to get vegetables in at every meal/snack!  I've done this in the past, and this alone can really make your meals very healthy!

- 1/2 package deli chicken meat

12 - 1pm
- teach boot camp

- 3 Chicken satay sticks with too much peanut sauce
- vegetables
bean sprout salad with peanuts

6 - 9pm
- teach classes/rehearsals

9:30/10pm
- 1 stick of fake crab (pollock)
- baby carrots
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese dip

This was a pretty great day.  Couldn't believe coming home after a long day and wanting carrots and cottage cheese over so many other things in the fridge!  I love that!  Yesterday I started the day right by taking pictures, but I got so busy and stressed out that I didn't end up documenting it all... I actually thought about taking this week off from pictures because I have my studio's big showcase this Sunday and need more time, but then I thought, I'd better make the time to encourage myself to eat right and feel great ESPECIALLY around a stressful time and of course wanna make sure I stay on track this week of all weeks as I wanna rock the costumes I need to wear for the show on Sunday!  So, tomorrow will be missing, but not today and onwards!

what I ate: Sun. Nov. 20, 2011

WARNING:  This was a very sinful day of bad eating!!!  What was supposed to be a cheat meal, turned into a full-blown cheat day!  But, I'm being fully honest with you guys here, so this is what happened yesterday:

10:30am
- 2 pancakes with butter & syrup
- a bit of eggs
- 1 1/2 slices of toast with butter and jam
- potatoes

1 - 2pm
teach boot camp

2:30pm
- the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever made! 
(made with lots of butter, cheddar, and feta cheese)

7:30pm
- 2 Eggo waffles with butter, syrup, and cinnamon sugar 

9pm
- 1/2 this bowl of popcorn
- icecream with peanut butter, caramel, and lucky charms!

So, you see, it was really bad!  When I'm bad, I'm really bad, but when I'm good, I'm really good!  So, today, I'm back onto GOOOOOOD!  Got up early and ran to the gym, did an intense back workout, ran back, then made a nice healthy breakfast! I now see another benefit to photographing and posting everything you eat... looking back at this day of food I ate is a little disgusting to me in hindsight - the foods look gross now - I will have to remember this before having another day like this!   I can't believe how differently I felt yesterday because of eating bad! I was falling asleep at 5pm and found it difficult to be peppy and fun, plus my stomach still hurts this morning from all that garbage!  Sometimes having a crazy day like this really makes you thankful for healthy foods you usually eat and how they make you and your body feel!

- avocado/tomato/cucumber/feta salad with 1 tbsp. light dressing
- only ate one of these pieces of fake crab (pollock) 

9:45 - 2:30pm
teach dance & fitness classes

2:40pm
- small whole wheat tortilla
- 1/2 pkg. Carl Buddig beef deli meat
- part skim cheese, cucumbers, yogurt sauce 

6:40pm (on my way home from a long day at the studio)
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1 apple
- small chocolate milk (instead of nuts at subway station)

10pm
at home relaxin with my:
- 3/4 cup 0% Greek yogurt with strawberries and multigrain cheerios 

Today was another awesome day!  I usually find Saturday daytimes really easy to eat well as long as I pack healthy meals for my day at the studio as I'm so busy and it's hard to eat anything so I don't have time to get creative or bad (lol!) but often I come home after a long day at the studio and just wanna binge on everything at home.  Tonight Wala'a is out and that made it much easier to resist making a grilled cheese sandwich or a big bowl of popcorn while we watch a movie.  On my way home I was really craving something sweet as well as dairy, so instead of buying almonds for my bus ride home, I indulged in the chocolate milk and it was great!  I still haven't had my cheat meal this week which shocks me!  We're going out to brunch tomorrow - that might be it!

- 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese dip (pureed cottage cheese with garlic & dill)
- broccoli
- 1 apple with almond butter
- 1 tsp. honey

3:45pm
- small chicken breast
- cucumber slices
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt with dill, garlic, & mint
- 2 rolls of Rockets candies

6:30pm
- whole wheat english muffin
- small homemade chicken burger (made with extra lean ground chicken)
- ketchup, cheese, and veggies

10pm
= 1 cup 0% fat Greek yogurt with honey & strawberries

Today was great as I just did groceries and was home all day taking it easy for a change, but I did have two english muffins which wasn't prime in my mind.  But, in general - healthy times! yay! Tomorrow is my official weigh-in with my 12-weekers and I'm feeling pretty good about it... my goal is to have lost 2 pounds from last weigh-in last week.
