I did it!
My big bikini competition was this past weekend... it was a great experience trying out bikini division and ontario physique association for the first time! Here's a little re-cap of my experience... Friday night I went for my tan with Absolute Touch at HUF Boxing Gym. They had set up in the basement of the gym with a waiting area, multi-stations for spraying, and an area for drying infront of fans. After getting sprayed, I joined all the other naked ladies drying off and made some new friends as we stood infront of fans until Pam told us we were dry enough to get dressed! A lot of people assumed I was doing Figure (not bikini) which made me a little nervous as I am a bit muscular for bikini, but maybe not enough for figure... tough call... I almost registered for both categories just to see what would be best for me. Next I jetted over to registration at Port Credit Secondary School (in the cafeteria). I arrived to a huge snaking line and a very full room! Got in line, registered, ordered photos, bought tickets, etc. And then it was time for the athlete's meeting which went over everything we needed to know including who the judges were, posing guidelines, timelines, etc. Went home, tried to get some sleep, but had a millions things to do like sew my hair extensions and put the final details on my bikini! The next morning I got up bright and early to get ready, pack all my food for the day, and be ready for my hair stylist who was coming at 6:30 to do my hair! Once hair was done, and my mom had arrived, we said goodbye to my husband and son (who had his very first Tae Kwon Do tournament this same day!) and took the bus to the venue. Hung around a while, got into my bikini, and then got a second spray tan and my make-up done. Lots more waiting around as my division was last in the pre-judging show... sooooooo thankful my mom was with me the whole time backstage - we had fun talking, taking silly pics, and people-watching. Finally it was my time to take the stage... I was in Bikini Tall division and I was one of the shortest :O Our category was the biggest I think with about 20 competitors - we could literally barely all fit on the stage at the same time! We did our posing and walking, then got split into smaller groups for comparisons. I wasn't sure how I had done with my posing as bikini posing (as opposed to figure or fitness) is so new to me, but after seeing a video my mom got from it, I felt a lot better - I didn't look like a total spazz - phew! Since my house was so close to the venue, me and my mom took the bus home and hung out there for about an hour before heading back for the finals. Backstage atmosphere is always so much more chilled-out in the evening portion of the competition. Bikini was in the middle of the night show so we didn't have as much time to wait, but still enough time for me to get very hungry, thirsty, and worry about my bikini bite stoppping holding my tiny bikini bum down on my cheeks (LOL). My husband and a few friends were in the audience for the night show so it was a little more scary! We also got to do our single walks and poses here which I was a little stressed about. That went fine, but then they did our front and back poses and walks all together as one big group that totally didn't fit on the stage and two of us were basically off stage/behind a podium/then behind a curtain so that was a littly sucky for my friends who had come to see me! I didn't make top five this time, but it was a very big tough group! I will know my actual placing once OPA posts the full results on their site sometime soon! Once I got outta there, I was totally ready to eat some pizza, shower my tan off, and go out to party with my friends at my very favourite salsa club, El Rancho! Everyone thought I would be too tired to go out after this big day, but I was READY!!!! It was a fun night out!
All in all, a great experience... I feel I brought my very best package and was more prepared than ever, which has a lot to do with my totally awesome coach PJ Braun who designed my meal plans, workouts, and held me accountable by looking at my progress pics every week and giving me feedback and motivation! I also want to thank my incredible mom who encouraged and supported me so much through this whole process eventhough she thinks these competitions are a little crazy (lol!) and spent the whole day and night backstage putting up with me and my zany ways! Also my husband and son for being there for me day in and day out through this whole process. And of course my amazing hair stylist, Thomas Kaub and Absolute Touch for the incredible tanning and makeup services!
What's next? After my weekend of sinful eating, I am back onto clean eats and will be back at my beloved gym tomorrow (I've missed it!) as I have a photo shoot with Paul Buceta (a dream come true) for the Miss CHIN Bikini Competition that I am very excited to have gotten into after interviewing for it last week! Then I will be competing in the Oxygen Model Search at the Toronto Pro Super Show and then the actual Miss CHIN Bikini Competition will be at the end of June! Very excited about my spring and summer!!!

Jillian Michaels Comes to T.O!!!
So super-excited that Jillian Michaels is gonna be coming to Toronto for her Maximize Your Life Tour!!! I absolutely love Jillian's tough-love atttitude on The Biggest Loser and listen to her podcast every week to hear all her thoughts, ideas, and advice on fitness matters as well as all other aspects of life! Imagine. Believe. Achieve.
These three words lay at the core of Jillian’s message, which is so very close to my own (I remember back a while ago a few of my 12-weekers actually used to jokingly call me Jillian when I would be really getting them to dig deep and finish off a tough set - lol! AWESOME!) So, as soon as I heard she is putting on a two-hour
show, touring with it, and there was a stop in Toronto I knew I had to go!
The show is described as helping to awaken you to reignite your passion, define your goals and
live in your authentic truth. Sounds exciting! Who's coming with me May 21??? More info and tickets at http://bit.ly/15RYLr4 Woo-hoo!!!

Hi!
Well, it has been a while since I have posted here! I've just been eating clean, training intensely, and staying very busy!!! I am now 3.5 weeks out from my first competition of the season!!! I feel a little bit behind in fat-loss, but am still pretty happy with where I've come to so far and the next few weeks will be insane!!!! Since Jan. I have lost 30 pounds and I think I need to lose about 10 more before my comp! I'm really enjoying this prep and feeling great! I had my last cheat meal Sunday for 4 weeks and it actually made me feel soooooooo sick that I'm not sure I really want much bad food even after this comp!
Here is a progress pic of the past 3 months of work (don't mind the roughness and non-smiling of the pics - lol!):

aaaahhhhhh - went to the Team Body Pro Jay Cutler seminar this weekend which was totally inspiring! My upper body is coming in, my lower body needs a lot of work! Had a great sweaty workout early-morning today after two days of rest!

Feb. 22, 2013
This week has been going great and the scale was down a bit (didn't expect much due to my way-bad cheat last Thursday and then a night out at the movies with too much popcorn on Sunday - Oh dear!) I'm back in the zone and have vowed not to cheat anymore... if it's time to have a cheat meal, I will just have a bit more clean carbs than usual, but NO buttery popcorn, big macs, or sweets!!!!!! They just turn me into a carb-crazed madwoman - lol! I am 11 weeks out from my competition tomorrow - WOO-HOO!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy (late) Valentine's Day to everyone!!! Hope you all had great days with loved ones! Valentine's Day is really one of my very favourite holidays because it celebrates love! Luckily yesterday, I had completed two weeks on my plan strong with no cheat-meal and I got the go-ahead for a mild cheat meal yesterday... It was a bit more than a mild one... enjoyed some carbs and sweets with my best friend and a fancy lobster dinner later with my husband. Had a great day in general with lots of love around me! Today I woke up feeling really really sick to my stomach from the stuff I ate yesterday and thought why would I ever eat that stuff? ugh. Back on track today, went to the gym, did some groceries as my diet is switching up a bit now. Tomorrow I will be exactly 12 weeks out from my first competition and I am already getting a little nervous about getting to my goal for it! My body really does not respond as quickly as it used to to everything... I remember when I used to just moderately clean up my eating and workout a bit more and the pounds would fly off... gone are those days! But I just keep visualizing the greatness I will achieve, thinking very positive thoughts about it all, and getting EXCITED!!!!Monday, February 11, 2013
Eating Clean through Tough Times!
Well, last week I was feeling that high, awesome state where you don't crave any bad foods or wanna take a rest day, etc., was losing about a pound every two days, and just in a state of bliss!!! This weekend was a bit of a turn-around from that... it was a little rougher, with a little more of emotional craziness and stress around my house/family so it was challenging for me as I usually just automatically run for the Haagen Dasz when I have stress or trouble (I'm totally an emotioanl eater!) Sunday I was having a totally hard day emotionally and I was in a mall passing that totally tempting Cinnamon bun smell and my husband (bad boy) told me to just have some cake so I would feel better... I totally didn't!!! It even surprised me that I just chugged my protein shake and then met my family for a fun time ice skating instead! I feel like if I can get through that, I can get through lots!!! I feel stronger than ever - yay! Food is such an easy crutch through times like those and you have to work a bit harder and actually deal with stuff head-on when you take that crutch away. Went to my dad's for dinner, he's a chef and makes amazing creamy creations, but he knew I was in competition prep so last night he made me delicious clean beef and veggies - yum! I'm still feeling a lot of cravings now, but feeling like I am strong enough to overcome them! Eating clean is always the hardest part of prep for me, but also the most rewarding!

me & my boy skating!
Today I blasted my legs and did some cardio while my son was in school. I have had to figure out how to only workout Monday - Friday while he's at Kindergarten as me and my husband are both so crazy about gym-time that a lot of our disagreements are 'you got to workout today and I didn't', lol! I think I've got it all figured out now so I don't miss a workout I'm supposed to do!

Rest Day!
Today is my rest day from the gym... I love working out so much that I don't like my rest days except that I try to look like a normal lady on these days - blowdry my hair nice, wear jeans instead of workout wear, etc. Everyone can always tell when I have a rest day from the gym, Tae Kwon Do, and work at my studio - usually Wednesdays and Sundays! Everything is going so smoothly with my plan so far, I've lost 10 pounds within the last 2 weeks, and have already reached my goal weight for this Saturday - yay! I'm trying to stick to 3 lbs/week, but I know it will get harder as I get closer to the competition so I'm grateful for a few extra at the start here! I am not noticing too much difference in the look of my body, but my students and my family are so that's definitely motivating! I think I tend to just do the ab flash in the bathroom mirror every morning to see how it's going and for me, that's usually the last place I lose... I tend to lose in my upper body and hips/thighs/butt first (which lots of women think would be great, but I think it just makes you look boyish with a belly - lol) Anyways, I'm gonna fill my day off with lots of positivity, visit with my dad, spend time with my son, and get a little bit of cooking done - yay!

BIKINI BOUND - time to compete again!
I have competed in figure, fitness, and fitness model on and off throughout the years mainly as a personal goal to stay fit and to challenge myself. My last stint of competing was just after having my son (who's 4 years old now) - I needed to prove to myself and everyone else I could get an even better body after having a baby. I feel I did that, placed top five in a few competitions, kept doing them every season for a bit, then life got busy and I was concentrating on my business (http://www.fiercefitness.ca & http://www.mayada.ca) so I took some time off. In that time off, I have really thought long and hard about my fitness goals and dreams and came to the decision that I am ready to compete again and this time I am ready to work harder than ever - I don't want to feel like I could have done more come competition day. I'm also ready to start competing with OPA finally!!! I started out competing in Fitness which I feel is the most interesting and entertaining category, it went well with me as I am a dancer and choreographer so I could use my talents in the routine, but like many other competitors, it became too much for me training-wise... I'm not a gymnast so that aspect was always weak and it was just so much of an undertaking (eeewww, I sound so lazy!) My goal is definitely to work on my moves and work on a long-term plan to get back into Fitness. But one step at a time... First I'm gonna get my body to a level where I can be competitive in the Bikini category and try that out! In my mind I'm a little too small for Figure and a little to muscular possibly for bikini - that's why I enjoyed competing in the Fitness Model category with other associations in the past. So, I am a little apprehensive about Bikini, but from following the sport for years, I see winning Bikini girls have very differing looks... some look very slim with little muscle, while others have a bit more of an athletic look. I started training two weeks ago (15 weeks out) with the help of an awesome prep coach, PJ Braun for OPA's O'BRIEN LUCHKA MISSISSAUGA CHAMPIONSHIPS on May 11! I cannot wait and I am very excited to bring my very best package ever to the stage this season! I will update my blog here regularly if you want to follow my journey!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Happy 2013 everyone!!! Looking back on my blog here, last year I wrote a little bit about New Year's Resolutions and how I love them as well as how I wish people would stop poo-pooing them. Anything that gets people feeling positive and hopeful about their goals and the future sounds good to me! You can check out last years post which also gives tips on goal-setting too at http://meaganmayada.blogspot.com/2011/12/do-you-poo-poo-new-years-resolutions.html
I always find it helpful to look back at the past year and see what you loved about it (and even what you didn't) so you know what's important to be working towards in your new year...

- Be more responsible with items like cameras, phones, computers... (I'm known to break everything)

I love everyone I sweat with!
Since my husband's workplace is very male-dominant and my work as a bellydance instructor is pretty much all female, we have often talked about how we would be perfect match-makers... he knows lots of single guys, I know lots of single gals. Most of you probably know how much I love to sweat and make other people sweat (I've made a whole business of it!), I also strongly feel that sweating with someone instantly brings you closer and breaks down lots of barriers and walls that are often up in other circumstances. Me and my hubby both love working out and have toyed with the idea of having a singles workout for quite sometime - workout with other singles, sweat, laugh, and hopefully meet some great like-minded people. Well, last night in class I was telling my students how I totally fall in love with anyone I sweat with a lot (yup, I'm in love with all my students!) There's probably some scientific reason... something to do with pheromones and endorphins, but when the walls come down and people are all undone, panting, and sweaty, an instant bond is defintely formed and you speed up the getting-to-know-you phase! Sooooooo, we have finally decided to jump on this idea and try out a SWEATY SINGLE MINGLE workout at the end of April! We will be ensuring we have equal numbers of men and women and exercises with be challenging yet fun with many being partner and group-centred to really get to know others with the added benefit of getting a great workout in too! After the workout, a light healthy snack will be served and you'll have time to mingle! Sign up now to get in on this exciting opportunity! CLICK HERE to check out more info and sign up!

My First Zumba Experience!
This month is all about trying out new workouts! One reason is because I am in super-training mode getting ready to do a fitness competition in May and I need to be doing all sorts of cardio a day so I might as well make it enjoyable, challenging, and fun rather than just pedaling away on my stationary bike in the basement (which also happened to break at the start of the month - I took it as a sign to get out and do some other forms of exercise!) Another reason I want to try out all this new stuff is I am a fitness professional myself and feel I need to put more effort into knowing what's out there, getting re-inspired, and keeping my stuff fresh so I can help my students and clients as much as I possibly can! So far I've gotten back into outdoor running, done P90X and Insanity DVDs at home, tried Skyrobics (trampoline workout), gonna check out Crossfit again, went to Zumba tonight, and who knows what else!
I've always kind of laughed about Zumba and didn't think it was really hardcore enough for me. I've also watched some ridiculous videos of their bellydance routines and as a professional bellydancer was mildly offended at what they were doing as bellydance. It seems really cult-like and is EVERYWHERE - that scare me a bit too... My good friend was saying she wanted to do Zumba last week and I was mocking and making fun, but then when I saw there was a Zumba class at my community centre gym on a day I don't teach my own classes, I called her up and asked if she wanted to go. She asked if I was joking or if I was going to laugh at her and the class the whole time... ha ha ha - maybe, but maybe this would be a fresh new fun way to get an hours-worth of cardio in at a time I usually wouldn't.
We arrived at the packed aerobic studio of the community centre (you need to arrive early to get a pass to get in and by 10 minutes before class it was almost all full up!) and were greeted by a perky instructor. Everyone was taking their places in the room, me and my friend decided it would be best to hide in the back corner for our first class. It has been a very long time since I did a group exercise class like this - totally brought back great memories of my teenage years at the YMCA! The music comes on and we start to Zumba!!! There was no annoying stretch or slow warm-up at the start which I liked. Lots of high energy Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa, Lambada, Samba, Axe, and maybe even a few bellydance arms in there all smooshed together. It was a fun time and I got pretty sweaty within the first few songs, so that was good! Every now and then there would be a slower piece (which I guess is so people can catch their breath) which I could've done without, but all in all it was a pretty good 45 minutes of good cardio within the hour class. I learned some fun new moves that I would never have done myself but that I might pull out at a club one of these days - I loved the Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow dance! I was taking classes, and later teaching classes just like this back in the 90's, we just called it salsaerobics, so it wasn't something crazy new to me. The thing that really registered with me the most was how totally awesome it is that this workout is making tons of regular people from all different walks of life who never dance, get out there and shake their booties full force, have fun doing it, and get a great workout at the same time! That's beautiful to me! I'll be back next class!

my rant for today: don't be so picky people!
Saw this image on someone's Facebook wall (originally from http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151305807845088&set=a.10150772520780088.727054.777280087&type=1#!/pages/The-Social-Deviants/244088568967537) and it reminded me of a blog post I've been meaning to write for a little while now...
I find it's usually unfit and/or overweight people who have the most pickinesses with what they eat... They're vegan, gluten-free, only eat organic produce, worry about preservatives and sodium, etc. These are all valid concerns and I have no issues with being aware of all these issues. The problem is, I can't take these people too seriously when I know as they are trying to avoid a little extra sodium that might be in a light salad dressing I recommend, they are going and binging on twinkies and chips (they don't seem to worry about the bad stuff in those products!) I find it very weird that a very overweight person can tell me with a straight face that they try not to eat whole eggs because they have too much fat and cholesterol!
If you are very unfit you should start your healthy eating by just generally being more healthy - adding lots of lean protein, vegetables, healthy fats, and some healthy carbs and keeping proportions in check. As you get more and more healthy and deep into a fitness lifestyle, you can for sure delve deeper and deeper into all the little intricacies of nutrition and exercise. But if you are a beginner, make sure to get a good grounding before you start confusing your mind with all these little details and before you arbitrarily start cutting whole food groups out of your diet, becoming a vegan, or 'hating' oatmeal or cottage cheese. Oh, the last statememnt reminds me of another point - when I do food plans for clients I always ask which foods they do and do not want on their food plan. Oatmeal and cottage cheese (two wonder foods in my mind) are often the most 'hated'... and I will often ask them about it further as these are staples in my diet usually and they have barely even given them a chance and usually are not all that open to trying them. So, another point I'd like to make is to stay open to new ideas - don't assume you hate something (especially if you've never tried it!) Try oatmeal with different combinations of stuff in it for example - I don't love instant oatmeal, but have found steel cut oats to be an awesome way to start my day! I certainly don't like them on their own - I have had to experiment to find what makes me like them... for me, it's a few raisins, tons of cinnamon, and a spoonful of either flax seeds, hemp hearts, or all-bran! You could try yogurt, honey, no sugar syrup, applesauce, nut butter, fruit, etc. Cottage cheese can be blended in a blender with herbs and spices to make a tasty protein dipping sauce for veggies, or you can add fruit to it for a nice protein-packed dessert! Get creative and try different things to see what you like, before you jump to the conclusion that you hate a food! And remember, if you say or feel you hate a food, you will hate a food - so keep a positive mindset!
Anyways back to all the picky unfit peeps - try to keep it simple at the start - eat clean foods every 3 - 4 hours, keep watch on portion sizes, and get lots of exercise. It will work! You will lose weight and get fit if you're consistent and stay with it... don't think that you aren't losing weight because you are eating beef or not taking a million supplements - it's usually because you aren't totally following the plan properly and having cheats all over the place! If you're super-worried about hormones, preservatives, etc. Be super-super-worried about eating those Cheetos and Coca-Colas!

Do You Poo-Poo New Year's Resolutions?!?!
I've noticed a big trend lately that makes me a little sad... I've had conversations about it (mainly with my fitness buddies), it's all over Facebook, Twitter, and other people's blogs... and that is how dumb new year's resolutions are! Most people generally make them and have high hopes for the year and all their dreams and goals, whether it's to stick with an exercise regimen, get that promotion at work, or be more organized around the house, people often feel the new year is a great time to take stock and envision where they want to go next. What the heck is the matter with this? Shouldn't we be encouraging people to join gyms, work harder, strive for the life they dream of instead of poo-pooing it and saying things like "I don't believe in new year's resolutions - goals need to be made year round"? But, this is just what I'm hearing - many highly goal-oriented people turning up their noses to making 'new year's resolutions' and saying people should be making goals throughout the year and that people's new year's resolutions tend to be forgotten by February. OK, give people a break... instead of crushing people's good intentions, why not encourage goal setting (any time of year, even at the start of the year!) and help people who may need help follow through on those goals they set Jan. 1! I set all sorts of goals in all areas of my life throughout the year, but I love the freshness of a new year to really get me going on big planning for the upcoming year. I love to look back at goals I set for the previous year, congratulate myself on what I made happen, think about why some goals may not have been achieved yet, and start a whole new list (which I usually make public here on my blog to hold me extra accountable). I am in the midst of working on mine right now and totally excited for everyone else who is ready to make 2012 their best year yet!!! Get excited people - if you decide it's gonna be great, it will!!!
Here are some tips on making new year's resolutions and following through:
Set your goals
- Write them down! There's so much more power in having all your goals written down officially, rather than just half-baked thoughts in your head!
- I like to make various sections/pages/whatever works for you of goals for different parts of my life (work, family, home, fitness, money, self, etc.)
- On each of these I make a few big goals (for example, on my 'fitness' page, I might put "I will lose 20 pounds by April 1."
- Then an important step a lot people don't do after making a goal is breaking the big goal down into little steps or goals so it's do-able. For this one, I would put under it, - 30 minutes cardio in the morning 5 days/week, - weight train 4 times/week - stick to my healthy meal plan, - lose 2 pounds/week and keep track of progress on a calendar, etc.
Make your Goals SMART!
- Specific
- Measureable
- Attainable
- Realistic (this is debatable - ha ha - I like to be a little unrealistic!)
- Timely
- Make sure to write your goals in an affirmative way (for example, I WILL... or I AM..., not I will try to... or I want to...) Make them powerful!
- Write your goals in a positive way, use 'I will eat healthy meals', not 'I will not eat any junk food'. Avoid negatives like won't, not, no, bad, etc.
Don't forget your goals!
- Make cards with your goals written in a strong affirmative manner (I WILL... or I AM...) and put them anywhere you look a lot (bathroom mirror, car, wallet, fridge, front door, etc.) When you see them really let them resonate with you and say them aloud a few times.
- Make a vision board of all your goalsand dreams for the new year! Cut out images, phrases, etc. from magazines, newspapers, or off the computer that show your goals/dreams, make a collage out of them on a big board, then display it in a prominent place that will make you remember what you are working towards this year! I have often had vision board-making get-togethers with friends and students which are fun!
- Tell everyone you can about your goals! I like to shout mine from the rooftops, but if you're a more private person, you could just tell a select few encouraging close friends or family members your goals and make sure they know to check back in with you on how you are doing periodically!
Reward yourself for large and small goals met!
- set up an official reward scheme, for example if you manage to eat clean for a full week, treat yourself to a pedicure. Make sure to write down what you get and when so you have that to look forward to and get that positive reinforcement to a new way of living! I will write a whole blog post soon on reward ideas and how to reward yourself for goals met!
Most of all GET EXCITED about the prospect of a new year and new goals that you WILL make happen! No matter what happened in the past, or how many times you've tried for a goal, do not have any doubt in your mind that you WILL achieve your greatest dreams now! Throw yourself wholeheartedly into your new life and enjoy!!!

Dec. 22, 2011
6:00am
- 30 minutes cardio (run & bike)
7:30am
- 1/2 cup egg whites with cheese & salsa
- green tea with mint
10:45am
- avocado salad with light feta & 1 tbsp. light dressing
12 - 1pm
- teach boot camp
2:00pm
- Greek Salad with minimal dressing
- Chicken breast with a bit of tzatziki
5:00pm
- too many of Zak's Ritz Bits (about 4 handfuls) :<
6 - 8:30pm
- teach workout & bellydance classes
9:30pm
- 2 thin slices of deli beef
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt with cereal
- handful of chocolate chips
- half a small cookie
- sleepytime tea
OK, so there were a few problems in my eating today, but I still feel like I did pretty good when there's chocolate, cookies, and other bad stuff all around me everywhere for the holidays! I know why I ate the RItz Bits and the sweets at the end of the day... I can clearly see it's because I missed my 5:00pm meal before teaching so I was craving stuff. I really find that when I eat every 3 - 4 hours, I don't usually crave anything. My goal for the rest of this week is to eat clean and workout hardcore for the next two days, take Christmas day off totally and eat some goodies, then get back on strict for Monday! So, aiming for just one cheat half-day on Sunday!

6:00am
- 30 minutes bike
7:45am
- 1/2 cup egg whites with salsa & cheese
- lemon tea
12:00pm
- 3 small shortbread cookies!
12:30 - 1:30

- crazy sweaty leg/cardio workout with Val!
9:30pm
- avocado salad with light feta & 1 tbsp. light dressing
- about 4 tbsp. 2% cottage cheese
Today was an awesome day (except for the cookies), but I tried to channel my friend who is the opposite of me in that usually when I eat something bad, my personality is so 'all or nothing' that I think oh well, guess today will be bad and then I eat a million other bad foods, but I was talking to her the other day and she says if she eats something bad, she feels she needs to be extra good the rest of the day and maybe add an extra workout to make up for the little slip-up. Now I know this is the way we should think, but for some reason I always go the other way... Today I managed to have my 3 cookies, and then get back on (which was hard being in a mall with all sorts of Cinnabon, popcorn, etc. smells in it)! At night I had a crazy training session with Val which re-inspired me to stay on track in all ways (eating clean, cardio, etc.) Woo-hoo!

Dec. 20, 2011
6:00am
- 35 minutes cardio
on my way out the door for a cold run!
7:30am
- 1/2 cup egg whites with salsa & cheese
- tea
11:00am
- vegetables
- 3/4 cup 2% cottage cheese with dill & garlic
2:30pm:
- avocado salad with light feta & 1 tbsp. low fat dressing
- 1 caramel rice cake with 1 tbsp. natural almond butter & 1 tbsp. honey
5:00pm
- 1 package Carl Buddig peppered beef
- 1 cheese string
- tea
6:30 - 8:30pm
- teach bellydance classes
9:00pm
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt with 3 strawberries & 1/2 cup multigrain cheerios
Today went well, except that I didn't make it to the gym this a.m. as I found it way too cold to jog all the way there... instead I just ran to the grocery store, did my groceries, and then finished my cardio at home on the bike. I wanted to do some muscle stuff, but didn't. Tomorrow will make up for this as I will do cardio in the morning, teach in the afternoon, then I have my training session with my trainer at night and that always kills me! I really feel I need to get back on working on getting my driver's license if only to drive to any gym I want in the cold mornings. I had some major cravings for bad sweet foods mid-day today, but totally got through them and felt good that I didn't cave! YAY!
